ABOUT ME

Welcome To Ms. Powell

My teaching philosophy is that all students can learn. Even students with disabilities. Students learn best from each other as No also visually. Whenever possible I attempt to infuse video media and manipulative into the math lessons. It had been my experience that anchor charts are especially helpful to special needs students who often grapple with problems of retention. So long as internet tools exist to duplicate the in-person experience, then learning via remote models is possible. I believe in consistent and varied modeling and that students must take some type of note for later reference and also review. I believe in homework which can consist of 4-6 problems nightly and that education does not occur in isolation, that educators need each other, the support of parents and administrators.
